I remember drinking warm powdered milk and eating canned goods or noodle soup for meals because we didn’t have a fridge.” These early years were not easy, but they set the stage for her bright future. Immigrating with her family to Canada at age 10 transformed her worldview. She saw the luxuries afforded to her new friends from school and their families in contrast to how her parents persevered, working tirelessly for low wages to provide for her.
At that moment, the cogs started to turn in Panaguiton’s mind about creating a career that would give her freedom, more time, and the ability to support her loved ones. Later in life, she was fatefully connected to a job working for one of the big five banks, and though she had no experience, they gave her a shot. After several years in the finance industry doing anti-money laundering investigations and managing a wide variety of investment vehicles and clients with billion-dollar portfolios, Panaguiton had gained invaluable insight and skill. One of her noteworthy takeaways – there is no secret investment strategy used by the rich other than to have a thorough understanding of how to take calculated risks, the basics of investing, and effectively putting their money to work. Sometime later, after attending a real estate investment seminar with a friend, she defined property investment as her path and immersed herself in every aspect of this field.
