Kelley Nemiro is the founder of Wellness by Kelley, a wellness program that she created to help her clients reach their goals, both physically and mentally. Click to learn her five most important tips for achieving optimal wellness.

Kelley Nemiro’s mentorship, guidance, and resources have changed the lives of thousands of people who broke out of old habits and changed their lives for the better. As seen in USA Today, Nemiro is the founder of Wellness by Kelley, a personal coaching program that she created to uplift others, based on the belief that making small changes every day can add up to big and sustainable changes over time.

Today Nemiro has built an empire that is responsible for helping individuals heal their bodies and live life to the fullest. She is a fiery and passionate coach whose passion for what she does stems from her own healing journey, and the challenges she overcame to get to where she is now.

Through Wellness by Kelley, Nemiro’s mission is to help others do the same. She works one on one with you to identify the root cause of your symptoms and helps you overcome them by adjusting certain aspects of your lifestyle that add up to big change. Read on to learn Kelley Nemiro’s 5 tips for achieving optimal wellness that have helped her and many more reach their goals:

1. Identify the root cause of your symptoms

Prior to becoming an established figure in the wellness sector, Nemiro experienced a chronic eating disorder and other health complications. She turned to traditional medicine to help her overcome it but was given quick fixes instead of long-term solutions, which ended up doing more harm than good.

“Whenever I went to the doctor, he would prescribe me pills to take, rather than get to the root cause of the problem, and that’s how I ended up on so many different ones,” Nemiro shares. At a certain point, she was taking several different medications and realized that the pills she was taking were negatively impacting her body and making her symptoms worse.

With nowhere to turn but inward, Nemiro took it upon herself to get to the root cause of her symptoms. She did her own research and found natural ways to overcome them. Today, she is a certified holistic health coach and has successfully weaned herself off of medication. If you are currently in a similar situation, consider talking to your doctor about what your expectations are, or consulting with a holistic health coach like Nemiro, who can help you identify the root cause of your symptoms.

2. Stop hitting the snooze button

“When I was in my early twenties, I was chronically exhausted,” Nemiro shares. “I was the person that would snooze the alarm every single day multiple times over until it was to the point where I had to get out of bed in order to make it to work on time. And in doing so, I found myself more overwhelmed because I hadn’t taken any time for myself and it was just this vicious cycle,” she continues.

This struggle of hitting the snooze button in life, whether it be literally or figuratively, is a sign that something isn’t working. For Nemiro, it meant that she wasn’t listening to her body or taking enough time for herself. To overcome that, she started by making small changes every day, like waking up earlier and meditating in the morning.

3. Establish a morning routine

“One of the first things I did on my journey was wake up a few minutes earlier, and with that spare time, I started practicing self-care. I started juicing, and once I was comfortable with that, I started waking up even earlier and incorporating meditation,” she shares.

Nemiro’s favorite meditation is the 555 method, where you breathe in for five seconds, hold for five seconds, and exhale for five seconds. It is an effective way to calm down your nervous system, manage your stress, and set the tone for a productive day.

“I took it one step at a time because that’s what makes it sustainable,” Nemiro says. “When you try to add all of these things at once, it can get overwhelming, but when you start playing it back, it becomes a lot easier. Like right now you wake up at 8 am, so try waking up at 7:45 am, and once you’re comfortable with that, try waking up at 7:30am. And when you recognize how these new habits are setting you up for a better day, that’s when real change happens,” she continues.

4. Fuel your body the right way

Another great way for you to feel good in your body and achieve optimal wellness is by being mindful of what you fuel it with. Making sure that you’re eating the right things is important because there are so many types of processed foods that can negatively impact your health without you even realizing it.

The first step in fueling your body right is identifying any nutritional imbalances or deficiencies you may have. A great way to do that, and what Nemiro does with her clients is, conducting lab and hormone tests. If there are any imbalances or deficiencies you may have, that can help you create a diet that takes that into account so you can fuel your body the right way.

5. Know that the journey is not going to be easy, but it is worth it

“Waking up sometimes and having a bad day is completely normal,” Nemiro shares. “Even I have bad days, and I’m laughing right now because I had one this morning. I woke up and the last thing that I wanted to do was meditate, move my body or get into that morning routine.”

“And so I checked in with myself and I asked myself, how bad do you want to feel good? Who are all of these other people in your life that you have to show up for today? And what is the difference between when you do these things versus when you don’t do these things because I went for so many years not doing them, and I know what it feels like to be in that position,” she concludes.

Achieving optimal wellness is a challenge, but a rewarding one. As Nemiro reminds us, it can be difficult to break out of old patterns and keep yourself motivated, but the version of yourself on the other end of that hard work is waiting for you.
