Whether you’re Team Jeremiah or Team Conrad, you’re likely still asking the same question right now: How will The Summer I Turned Pretty end? The latest episode of season 3, “Last Kiss” ended pretty much where the third book in Jenny Han’s trilogy ends, which means just about anything could happen in the three remaining episodes. But thanks to Prime Video, fans at least have an idea of who Belly might choose.
On August 29, a final The Summer I Turned Pretty trailer dropped, providing a preview for the series’ ending. In it, it seems Belly decides to leave both brothers behind for Paris—despite that cliffhanger ending in episode 8, which showed Belly at the airport, spotting Conrad at his gate waiting to fly back to California.
In a voiceover, Belly says, “I had these pillars in my life—Cousins, my family, Taylor, Jere. They made me feel like I was safe, like I was on solid ground. Now they’re gone. And it’s just me.”
Fans then get a glimpse of Belly’s new life in Paris—including new friends (and maybe even a new love interest!)—as her narration continue. “I don’t even know who I am anymore,” she says. “I need to find the person that I can be.”
Those new friends include actors Corinna Brown, Isaline Prevost Radeff, and Jahz Armando, while actor Fernando Cattori seems to play Belly’s potential new love interest.
Also included in the trailer? A letter from Conrad. I can only imagine that what might say.
So…who will Belly choose in the end? TSITP author Jenny Han previously teased that the series might end without ever resolving the love triangle. During an appearance on the Wild Card with Rachel Martin podcast, when the host suggested that the show had to end with Belly making a choice between Conrad and Jeremiah—Jenny disagreed.
“Well, she doesn’t,” the writer said. “I don’t think she has to choose one.”
Guess we’ll just have to wait for the final three episodes to air to find out!
