Move over butter yellow—orange is set to be the new it-color of the season, thanks to Taylor Swift and the announcement of her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.
It all started on August 11, when Travis and Jason Kelce’s podcast New Heights teased a special guest for its August 13 episode by posting a Taylor-like silhouette against a glittery orange background. That same day, fan page Taylornation shared a collage of her in various orange looks from her Eras Tour. Hours later, her website launched a mysterious countdown—and by August 12, the reveal dropped. In a teaser clip for the episode, she pulled her 12th studio album from an orange T.S.–monogrammed briefcase while wearing brick-orange lipstick. Her site promptly reopened in a full orange-and-mint-green makeover, complete with album pre-orders.
In the full New Heights episode, Tay announced the album will debut October 3 with 12 tracks, featuring producers Max Martin and Shellback (her Red, 1989, and Reputation collaborators) and a guest spot from Sabrina Carpenter on the title track. Travis even mentioned that the album is “a lot more upbeat” and that all the songs are ~naturally~ “bangers.”
While discussing her Easter egg–filled rollout, Tay shared that her walk through the door at the final Eras Tour show symbolized her stepping into a new era. “Orange feels like energetically how my life has felt,” she said, adding that the album reflects the vibrant, electric energy she experienced behind the scenes during the tour.
