We’ve been hoodwinked, bamboozled, lead astray, run amok and flat-out deceived. The reason: Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson are reportedly already over…and their romance may not have even been real. Allow me to explain.
According to journalist and gossip columnist Rob Shuter’s exclusive report on Substack, the Naked Gun costars simply decided to engage in an old-fashioned showmance during their press tour, and now that the press has ended, so has their supposed relationship.
As an inside source told Rob: “Their chemistry was real on camera, but off? It was strictly business. Pamela Anderson is a pro, Liam Neeson is a pro—they knew leaning into the rumors would get attention.” And guess what, folks? It worked!!

For a few weeks, it seemed like Pam and Liam were eve-ry-where making cute appearances…but now that the movie has opened, the two are nowhere to be seen. According to another source who spoke to Rob, this is “because there was never a relationship to begin with.”
The insider continued, “It was clever marketing. People want to believe in romance, and Hollywood knows love stories move tickets.”
ICYMI, buzz around Pam and Liam’s off-screen relationship first began back in October 2024, when Liam—fresh off filming The Naked Gun—told People, “With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with. I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you.”
By the time they hit the red carpet in July for the premiere of their movie, fans FULLY believed the two were in a bonafide romance—and while the two never *officially* confirmed their status, anonymous sources were more than happy to do so.
In a 24-hour window, sources for People, Us Weekly, Daily Mail, and Page Six all claimed the two stars were full-on dating…though really, it seems all they were ever doing was leaning into the press cycle for their film.
I guess that’s showbiz, baby!
