Two things I learned today: One, Prince Harry surfs, and two, Meghan Markle thinks her husband is a fox. If you missed it, the Duchess of Sussex just took to Instagram to share a rare video of her husband catching some waves, and I’m not going to lie—it’s pretty impressive! Her caption: “We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this important message: 🦊.”

Please see for yourself below…and please note that Meghan set the video to Salt-N-Pepa’s 1993 hit, “Whatta Man.”

Harry first began honing his surfing skills in 2020, not long after he and Meghan after stepped down as senior members of the royal family and relocated to Montecito. And apparently, Meghan was the one who inspired Harry to take up the sport. Back in October 2020, a source for Page Six claimed she “bought him surfing lessons” for his 36th birthday.

Then, in October 2024, professional surfer Raimana Van Bastolaer shared a video of himself at the Kelly Slater Surf Ranch (a man-made wave facility in Lemoore, California) riding alongside the Duke of Sussex.

“In Tahiti, we still call you Prince Harry, but at Surf Ranch, it’s my Brother,” he captioned his post. “It was an honor to have you surf with me.”

Even before relocating to California, Harry and Meghan used to meet with groups that used surfing as a means to promote positive mental health. In 2019, the Sussexes met with Waves for Change in Cape Town, South Africa, during their royal tour of the continent, and the year before that, they met with OneWave while visiting Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia.

And Harry isn’t the only one who’s caught the surfing bug, either. Earlier this month, TMZ papped Harry and Meghan at Santa Claus Beach in Carpinteria while their six-year-old son Archie got surfing lessons. Like father, like son!!
