It’s been a minute since she hard-launched her relationship with Louis Russell…but still, when asked about her possible new boyfriend during the Love Island USA season 7 reunion, Huda Mustafa refused to spill the tea. “I can’t speak about my relationships outside the Villa,” Huda claimed, going on to cite “legal reasons.” But host Andy Cohen wasn’t buying it…which is probably why Huda just revealed the real reason for her silence.
Not long after the reunion aired, Huda took to her TikTok Stories to share an explanation with fans. “I prefer to share details about my relationships on my own terms, not for a TV show it has nothing to do with,” she wrote. “Repeated pressure to open up, especially when it’s excessive, makes me uncomfortable. I’d appreciate if that could be respected. But you’ll edit out the amount of times you asked and tried making others answer for me.”
Not long after ending things with Chris Seeley during the Love Island finale, Huda seemingly debuted her relationship with Too Hot to Handle alum Louis—who, at the time, was starring in season 3 of Netflix’s Perfect Match. Over the past month, the two have hit the red carpet together, appeared on each other’s socials, and have pretty much all but straight-up confirmed their relationship.
So when Huda pointed to Netflix as the reason she was “not allowed to talk about” her new relationship, Andy was understandably confused…which is likely why he pushed for information (and started beef with Netflix in the process).
Sure, the Love Island USA reunion was technically filmed before the Perfect Match season 3 finale aired on Netflix (filming for the reunion took place on August 12, while the Perfect Match finale didn’t drop until August 15). But chances are that Huda simply didn’t want to get into her new ‘ship on camera, which is why she blamed Netflix for her silence. Fair enough!
