How Does Joe Alwyn Feel About Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Engagement? An Insider Has the Scoop

Now that we’ve discussed Kayla Nicole’s reaction to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s engagement, it seems like a good time to check in on Blondie’s most recent ex. How is Joe Alwyn feeling about the engagement news, you ask? Per a source for the Daily Mail, there’s no bad blood between the two…but the actor probably won’t be sending a congratulatory card in the mail, either.

“Taylor’s engagement is the final nail in the coffin to any thoughts Joe will ever have about her again,” claimed the source, adding, “Sure, he genuinely hopes she is in a good place and doing well, but he doesn’t think about her anymore on any consistent basis and hasn’t reached out, nor will he, to offer congratulations.”

Prior to her whirlwind romance with Travis, Tay dated the London Boy for just about six years before news of their split came out in April 2023. At the time, a source told People that “differences in their personalities” caused Taylor and Joe’s breakup.

“They had plenty in common and fell in love in a safe bubble while she was retreating from the world during Reputation,” the insider noted. “Then the pandemic hit, and they were locked down together and able to continue growing their relationship in this insulated way. But he didn’t really ‘know’ her yet outside of that bubble. Joe has struggled with Taylor’s level of fame and the attention from the public. The differences in their personalities have also become harder to ignore after years together. They’ve grown apart.”

Since their split, the notoriously private Joe hasn’t said much about his famous ex…and he didn’t even address the breakup head-on until over a year later. In a Sunday Times profile (which published in June 2024), Joe was asked whether he’d listened to Taylor’s The Tortured Poets Department, and here’s what he had to say:

“I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years. That is a hard thing to navigate. What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later, it’s suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in.”
