Sooooo, the other day whilst doing press for Dune: Part Two, Rebecca Ferguson casually mentioned that she’d been screamed at on set by an unnamed co-star. And naturally, EVERYONE HAS QUESTIONS.
“I remember there was a moment, and this human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out,” she said on the Reign With Josh Smith podcast. “And I think I was so vulnerable and comfortable that I got screamed at. But because this person was number one on a call sheet, there was no safety net for me. So no one had my back. And I would cry walking off set. This person would literally look at me in front of the whole crew and say, ‘You call yourself an actor? This is what I have to work with? What is this?’ And I stood there just breaking.”
Rebecca ended up confronting this person (and acting towards the back of their head instead of face-to-face!), but the internet is now single-mindedly focused on who screamed at her—with theories ranging from Hugh Grant to Gustaf Skarsgård.
So…whomst is the celebrity screamer? No clue, but there’s been so much speculation that both The Rock and Emily Blunt have released statements denying it was them. Oh, and Rebecca herself confirmed it was not Hugh Jackman or Tom Cruise, FWIW.
“Hate seeing this but love seeing her stand up to bullshit,” The Rock tweeted. “Rebecca was my guardian angel sent from heaven on our set. I love that woman. I’d like to find out who did this.”
Meanwhile, Emily Blunt’s rep released a statement to the Daily Mail that read, “Rebecca and Emily are friends and there’s nothing but love between them.”
Got it got it got it. Gonna need pretty much everyone else Rebecca has ever worked with to speak out, pls and ty.
