When ‘Challengers’ Will Be Available to Stream and How to Watch

At long last, Challengers has been released. It feels like we’ve been waiting for Luca Guadagnino’s thrilling and horny movie about a love triangle (or throuple, TBH) between three tennis players starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist for ages. But is Challengers streaming? Here’s what we know.

FWIW, Challengers is currently in theaters, and I honestly could not recommend the theatrical experience for this movie enough. You really need to sit in the dark, see every bead of sweat on the largest screen possible, and get rocked by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’s musical score on the loud speakers. There are even lowkey spoilers floating around on social media that I would hate for you to see and have that sacred viewing experience ruined. But if going to the movies isn’t in the cards for you–or you already did see Challengers in theaters, and need to see it again but can’t swing the cost of going to the movies (it’s expensive y’all) or whatever–here’s our best guess on when you’ll be able to stream Challengers and where.

Is Challengers streaming?

No! If you absolutely cannot wait, get yourself to the cinema. I promise it’s worth it.

Where will Challengers be streaming?

Amazon MGM Studios distributes Challengers. That means that it is most likely to end up streaming on Amazon Prime–though I wouldn’t be surprised if it showed up additionally on Paramount+, as that studio also works with MGM.

But is Challengers on a streaming platform yet?

Well no! I would give it at least a month, if not two. Amazon MGM Studios does not have a set theatrical window (meaning the time that a studio is required to keep a movie in theaters) so it’s hard to judge. That honestly works out great. This is going to be a great movie to watch over and over in the comfort of your air-conditioned home this summer.

So what if I don’t have Amazon Prime?

Challengers will also get a digital release, probably a few weeks before it hits a streaming service. You can rent or buy the film at home that way. There will also be DVDs for the true Challengers heads.
