Reba McEntire is full of surprises! Her country music career spans five decades, and she continues to keep things fresh for her fans, from her stint as a coach on The Voice to performing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Now, the 69-year-old singer is returning to her roots with a historic hosting gig at this year’s ACM Awards.
Throughout the years, the awards show has been hosted by a who’s who of country music royalty, from Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks to Clint Black and Loretta Lynn. But Reba officially holds the crown as the artist with the most ACM Awards hosting gigs to her name, with a whopping 17.

Reba said, “I am tickled to pieces to get to host the ACM Awards for the 17th time! What an honor to have been part of the past, present and now the future of the Academy of Country Music with Amazon Prime Video. I can’t wait to get to Texas and see everybody May 16th!”
ACM CEO Damon Whiteside, ACM CEO said, “No one has a deeper and richer history with the Academy than Reba, from her many years hosting the ACM Awards, and from her 16 ACM Awards wins including Entertainer of the Year and two ACM anniversary Milestone Awards. With exciting new music coming, extensive television presence and a worldwide fanbase, Reba’s back and better than ever!”
Reba dropped the news on Instagram and snuck in another career update: She’ll be using her time during the show to take the stage and debut new music.
Reba wrote, “Oh hey @ACMawards, have you missed me? I can’t wait to host this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards – LIVE Thursday, May 16 at 8e | 5p on @PrimeVideo 🤠 I’ll also be performing brand new music during the show! 🎶 #RebaACM #ACMawards”
