Whelp. Turns out even the royals have THAT ONE UNCLE, and in the case of Kate Middleton, he is…going on Big Brother UK. And, no, the family is not thrilled.
According to a new report in the Sun, Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, have read her uncle Gary Goldsmith the “riot act” in light of him signing up for the show—and Carole in particular is said to be “infuriated” with her brother. Meanwhile, the palace is also worried Kate’s controversial uncle could spill some seriously damaging royal secrets on TV.
“Gary said he’s been read the riot act by Kate’s mum Carole and her dad Michael,” a source recently told the Sun. “They aren’t happy he’s going into Celebrity Big Brother. It is infuriating for them. Kate doesn’t need this stress.”
The insider added that, “In the eyes of the public, Gary’s become the black sheep of the Middleton family. Carole is his sister, so there will always be love, but they no longer see eye-to-eye on lots of things. He has said he doesn’t have their blessing to go into the house but is going full steam ahead anyway.”
Meanwhile, Gary apparently intends to “defend his family” and “wouldn’t do anything to embarrass Kate or William, who he thinks a lot of. With Kate being out of the public eye at the moment and William shouldering a lot, the last thing they want is for Uncle Gary to be causing any embarrassment on television.”
Hmmm. Nothing to say but yikes to all of this!
