Just like everyone needs a solid set of tools when they move into a new home, Material believes that everyone needs a solid set of cookware in their first adult apartment—and their three main products provide just that. Together, The Coated Pan, The Sauté Pan, and The Sauce Pot—which you can buy individually or as a set—are all you need to whip up pretty much any dish you can conceive of. Oh, and when you’ve copped the cookware, you should def check out the other stuff Materials offers, from chic glassware and placements to some high-performance knives that always sell out.

You can snag a lot of different pots and pans at Target, but their in-house cookware brand, Figmint, which dropped in late 2023, might just take the cake (and yes, since I’ve put it in your head, they also sell cake pans). The collection features over 250 kitchen items—from sleek mixing bowls (with lids!) to non-slip cutting boards and everything in between—all at super competitive prices. Their cookware comes in four different styles: ceramic, hard-anodized, stainless steel, and cast iron. The ceramic and cast iron options are available in a variety of chic and muted colorways, like sage green (my personal fave), terracotta orange, cream, and blue. So if you’ve been loving the colorful cookware trend but don’t wanna shell out major cash (the 12-piece ceramic set will only set you back $180!!!) you know where to look.

Our Place has had quite the past few years, blowing up on pretty much every social media platform you can think of for their now-cult-classic Always Pan. In addition to being a gosh darn work of art, the pan was designed to be the ultimate multipurpose piece of cookware, combining a frying pan, sauté pan, steamer, skillet, saucier, saucepan. nonstick pan, spatula, and spoon rest all in one. Soooo, basically, it’s a must-have for small-kitchen owners. Plus, those COLORS. I mean, I’m personally obsessed with the color “spice,” seen here, but there are seven other trendy hues if you wanna take a gander (the lavender is also a vibe). As you can tell, the Always Pan typically gets the most attention, but Our Place also has some other great cookware and dinnerware options that you shouldn’t sleep on. Selena Gomez is a fan so, enough said.

- Hand wash only
Ayesha Curry knows how to make a mean dish, so naturally, I trust her implicitly when it comes to all things cooking. That’s why I love her home line, Ayesha Curry Home, which has a wide range of cookware options that, honestly, are a steal of a deal. Take this 12-piece nonstick set, for example. You get two sauce pans, two frying pans, a sauté pan, a Dutch oven, two cooking utensils, and four lids all for under $100. So yeah, an entire cupboard’s worth of high-quality cookware for less than the cost of a tiny jar of moisturizer from La Mer. Thanks, Ayesha (tell Steph and the kids we say hey)!

Cons
- Not a ton of options in the collection
I don’t know about you, but it’s been a lifelong dream of mine to attend a dinner party at Chrissy Teigen’s place. Because it’s unlikely that invitation will ever make its way to me, I’ve done a lot of research on the next best thing: the cookware the multi-hyphenate mama designed for her Cravings by Chrissy Teigen collection. There are several individual pieces you can shop on the brand website rn, but the best deal is this stainless steel cookware set. Each of the three pieces look chic and make cooking (and cleaning up) easy, breezy, beautiful thanks to their nonstick coating.

HexClad 6-Piece Hybrid Stainless Steel Cookware Set With Lids
Hailey Bieber used a HexClad pan in the first episode of her YouTube series, What’s In My Kitchen, so we added HexClad to this list of best cookware brands. JK, that’s not the only reason it’s on the list, but, I mean, if it’s good enough for Mrs. Bieber, it’s good enough for me. Real talk though, HexClad’s nonstick pots and pans are beloved by both celebs and chefs (Gordon Ramsay is also a fan) for their durability and sleek style. The brand is actually considered a “hybrid” cookware company, because the products combine the performance of stainless steel and the longevity of cast iron while also being nonstick. A multifaceted piece that has great temperature control and stands to be in your cupboard for decades? I stan!

- Non-stick coating can chip or scratch after repeated use
If you haven’t seen this brand on TikTok…you probably just aren’t on TikTok. Caraway’s pots and pans have absolutely blown up on social media, making them must-haves for Gen-Zs and millennials everywhere. Each product is sustainably made and releases less CO2 emissions during production than traditional nonstick cookware, and the ceramic coating that keeps everything shiny and stick-free (honestly, they’re so easy to wash) contains zero chemicals. Grab their signature set—which includes a frying pan, saucepan, sauté pan, Dutch oven, and organizers for both the pans and lids—in one of the six classic colors.

Cons
- Rough on the wallet
If you’ve made a wedding registry or perused someone else’s in the past decade, chances are you’ve come across one of these babies. Le Creuset doesn’t play around when it comes to cookware and bakeware—it’s all cast-iron, enameled, dishwasher-safe, and highly rated. Their signature product, the Dutch oven, is what most people have on their wish lists, and for good reason. If you’re looking for new cookware, I recommend taking the leap on their five-piece set, which includes the Dutch oven as well as a matching saucepan and skillet. The kelly green you see here is to die for, obvs, but the set is also available in 10 other colors if your kitchen has a different vibe.

- Some pans aren’t compatible with induction cooktops
If you’re a girlie who gets all hyped for products with a lot of fun (and functional!) features, then GreenPan is probably the brand for you. The pots and pans in their popular cookware set all feature a nonstick ceramic coating, silicone-wrapped handles that are cool to the touch, tempered glass lids that allow you to see what you’re cooking, and a built-in strainer in the lids so you don’t have to pull out a colander. Plus, they all stack into each other, saving you space in your (probably already stuffed) cupboard. The products are all also sustainably made and chemical-free, hence the word “green” in their name. We love to see it!

Though a little pricier than some of the other brands on this list, Made In is certainly worth the splurge. For one, their pieces are timeless. I mean, look how gorgeous those copper pots and pans are—there’s no way people won’t still be giving you compliments on them at dinner parties years in the future. Secondly, they’re great quality. Most of the world’s top restaurants use copper cookware, and Made In’s pieces—which are made in France—are up there with the best of the best. They’re lined with stainless clad, which can withstand temperatures twice as high as the average cookware lining. Basically, these bad boys are as heavy-duty as they are chic, so if you’ve got money to blow, I’d recommend blowing it here.

OXO Stainless Steel Mira Series 10-Piece Set
Cons
- No fun colors
You may recognize the name OXO from their *many* kitchen gadgets (I know I have their potato peeler, cheese grater, and ice cream scooper, aka the holy trinity, in my drawer rn), but they also make some fab cookware. Their stainless steel series is luxe and modern, and each piece has two stainless-steel layers and an aluminum core to make sure cooking is quick and even. The ceramic nonstick coating is free of chemicals like PFAS, PFOA, lead, and cadmium, and the finish is stain-resistant, so you don’t have to worry about those weird marks or warping sometimes caused by heat. If you’re stocking a new kitchen, I highly recommend this 10-piece set—it’s a great bang for your buck!

Calling all babes on a budget! Drew Barrymore really said, “I got your back” with this one. The child star turned all-around icon is good at many, many things in this life, and being a fabulous chef just happens to be one of them. That’s why it’s no surprise that her Walmart brand, Beautiful by Drew Barrymore, also has an impressive cookware collection, complete with nonstick pots, pans, and Dutch ovens, all of which boast gorgeous gold features. You can cop a 12-piece set (available in four different colors) for just $109 when it’s on sale, which sounds too good to be true but actually isn’t. I mean, would Drew ever do us wrong?

Swiss Diamond Stainless Steel 5.3 Quart Dutch Oven With Lid
One of my first big-girl purchases when I moved to New York was a set of Swiss Diamond pots and pans, and I’ve been using them ever since. Sure, I’ve added a few products from different brands over the years, but I always wind up coming back to my OGs when duty calls. Made in Switzerland, each product from the brand is designed to withstand the test of time—because the patented coating on each piece is actually reinforced with real diamond crystals. Yep, you heard that right, you’re cooking with a girl’s best friend! I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking a Swiss Diamond pan (or two) would make a great engagement gift…
