There’s nothing quite like clean laundry day. Julia Fox appeared in London last night seemingly fresh off a run to her dry cleaners, if the crisp white button-up hanging inside a plastic garment bag is any indication.
The Uncut Gems star and muse appeared to wear the garment bag as a makeshift necklace, hanging it off a necklace cord tied around her neck. The interesting garment left her back and sideboob almost completely exposed, though she finished off the look with some more modest all-white pieces, including a pair of short shorts with a stretchy waistband, knee-high PVC boots with a pointed-toe and stiletto heel, and a geometric handbag.
Innovative outfits that make you tilt your head and go, Huh, are something of a quintessential staple in Julia’s street style reputation.
For instance, she delivered yet another plastic bag moment during this year’s Cannes Film Festival, where she attended the red-carpet premiere of The Idol in a gauzy white gown made out of iridescent and plastic-like material. For the after-party, she showed up in an exaggerated clown costume made out of a similar see-through white fabric. It featured an oversize long-sleeve top adorned with three giant boa feather buttons down the center, plus a pair of matching, and extremely baggy, trousers. She topped off the look with a white clown cap and clear platform pumps.
Julia explained her experimental sense of style in a 2022 interview with the Cut. “[My publicity team was] like, ‘Oh, they’re a little too editorial,’ ‘It’s too sexy. It’s too provocative. It’s too out there,’” she shared. “I was just like, ‘Okay, I guess I just have to be more Hollywood and more bland.’ But fuck that narrative if I want to pop out and wear crazy shit—which is what I want to wear.”
