Selena Gomez has been having a *seriously* stylish summer this year, and we love that for her. In the past few months, she’s tried some of the season’s hottest trends on for size – and to stunning effect, as ever.

To get you up to speed: so far, she’s ticked off “underwear as outerwear” in a plunging floral corset, sexy swimwear in a cut-out black one-piece, Parisian chic in a Dior puff sleeve knit, and she’s even nailed the TikTok-fave “tomato girl summer” aesthetic in the *perfect* white cotton shirred dress. Now that’s what we call one seriously impressive series of outfits. Snaps for Selena!

Just about the only thing missing from Selena’s summer style marathon so far, however, is the Y2K trend, much-loved by celebs including Sydney Sweeney, Emily Ratajkowski, JLo and Nelly Furtado to name but a few. But the wait is finally over.

Selena went *big* with her Y2K-inspired outfit, that she posted on her Instagram Stories earlier today – and it’s safe to say we are fully obsessed…

The singer/actor/all-round superstar looks absolutely stunning in her Noughties Paris Hilton meets Barbiecore bright pink chainmail mini dress, styled with a matching lacy bra peeking out from underneath. Selena completed the look with big gold hoop earrings, a butterfly necklace, and a double string of pearls featuring an “S” initial – plus coordinating pink nails, ofc.

Is it just us, or is her look giving Year 6 disco?!?! Especially when you consider her pink lipgloss, smoky black eyeliner, messy hair, and moody pout… Were it not for the fact that everything she’s wearing is *clearly* designer, Selena’s mirror selfie could aaaaaalmost be one of ours from back in the day, tbh. Talk about nailing the brief!

And it seems like this isn’t the last we’re going to see of Selena channeling the Y2K aesthetic, either. To announce her upcoming new single (!!!!!!!!!!), the singer shared multiple BTS looks that all reference the Nineties and Noughties trend – and show she has a particular penchant for pink chainmail to boot. The countdown to August 25th is officially ON.
