In her latest interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Millie chats about keeping wedding planning with Jake private:
“I think [for the wedding, we’ll] probably [be] drawing the curtains, just because there are only so many moments in life that you get only once. And to have everyone’s opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me. So I feel it’s important to keep those things, those small precious moments in life, really close to your chest. I can say that the planning is going—it’s so fun and it’s such an exciting time in my life.”
Millie also chats to The Sunday Times (via People), saying she “knew he was going to be a huge part of my life” after the first time they ever spoke:
“I ran to my mum and said, ‘I really, really like him!’ After we met we knew we never wanted to leave each other’s side. You can’t pinpoint why [someone is ‘the one’], it’s just the feeling of knowing that that’s the person you want to spend the rest of your time with….I think so much of life is overthinking. The one thing that made clear sense to me was him. So I didn’t really have to do much thinking.”
Speaking of Millie’s mom, apparently Jake proposed with one of her rings: “I’ve always loved that ring, it’s always stuck out to me, so she gave it to Jake. They were in cahoots about the whole proposal. I love that I can always keep a piece of my mum with me.”

In her global cover story as Glamour‘s Woman of the Year, Mills opened up about her special connection to her fiancé. When it came to past relationships, the actor revealed that she had a tendency to shrink herself. “I think I was so afraid to be a strong woman in a relationship,” she said. “When I met Jake, I just felt I could be loud. He embraced that and encouraged that. And I fell in love with myself while being with him.”
She added that Jake loves her for the things she once didn’t like about herself, which led to a revelation of self-love. “He was a really big, huge part of me loving myself and becoming a woman. It was like, ‘Wow, I really love this person because he allows me to love myself,'” MBB explained.
The Stranger Things star then revealed that she never dreamed of getting married, but having a baby.
“I wanted to be the woman that my mom is to me and I wanted to be the woman that my grandmother was to me,” she said. “So that was never my, like, intention, to be a wife. But after meeting Jake and seeing, ‘Oh, I don’t have to be this stereotypical wife for him. He doesn’t want me to be that either.
