After a whiplash-inducing whirlwind of social media callouts and immediately-analyzed lyrical references, Kanye West is taking a step back from his divorce drama with Kim Kardashian, it seems.

Kanye has pulled a disappearing act when it comes to his public life, going dark on social media and largely staying out of the public eye in general. A source close to the rapper says this has all been part of a deliberate plan on his part and that Ye is living his best self-care life at the moment.

“Kanye has been laying low and focusing on healing,” the source told Entertainment Tonight. “He is trying to disconnect from all the drama that happened between him and Kim. He is focused on taking care of himself, getting healthier, and removing himself from all the craziness. He cares deeply about his family and kids. They are his number one priority and he’s working on himself.”

This tracks with statements that leaked out from Kayne’s camp a few weeks ago, when sources said he had told Kim he was “going away to get help.”

“For the sake of the kids, Kanye has told Kim he’s not making any public appearances or inflammatory social media statements, and he will go away somewhere to get better,” a Kardashian source told Page Six at the time.

Earlier this month, Kanye made good on that promise to take a break from public appearances when he dropped out of his headlining spot at Coachella just two weeks before he was set to take the stage. Here’s hoping that Kanye’s self-care hiatus is a success and that he gets all the help he needs.
