Maybe there’s something in the water, but the genes in Hollywood are strong. Particularly when it comes to mothers and their daughters.

Reese Witherspoon looks more like her daughter Ava’s sister than her mother, and we’re not convinced that Gwyneth Paltrow‘s daughter Apple Martin isn’t actually the actress’ clone. Margaret Qualley has taken after her mother Andie MacDowell in more ways than one, inheriting her looks and her acting talent. As has Maya Hawke with her mother Uma Thurman, while Leni Klum is following in her look-a-like mother Heidi‘s modeling footsteps. And the resemblance doesn’t fade over time. If anything Kate Hudson looks more like her mother Goldie Hawn every day, with the same true for Zoe Kravitz and Lisa Bonet.

But we actually had to do a double take when we saw new pictures of Kaia Gerber, thinking for a moment it was actually her model mom Cindy Crawford.

Appearing on the cover and in an accompanying photoshoot for Italian magazine, D Repubblica, Kaia can be seen reclining while wearing a Celine glittery halter-neck mini dress complete with a plunging neckline and two large cut-outs at each side of her torso. With her hair back over her shoulders and styled in loose waves, Kaia is the spitting image of Cindy.

Sharing further images from the shoot, Kaia models further Celine looks including a black mini dress with a crystal-embellished neckline and keyhole cut-out at the bust. A third and equally glamorous outfit consists of a sequin dress with a deep V-neck, worn with a shaggy fur coat.

The vintage aesthetic combined with the retro styling influenced by every decade spanning the 1960s to the ’90s only maximizes the uncanny resemblance between mother and daughter. If we didn’t know better, we’d think it was a throwback post to one of Cindy’s old shoots.

Showing just how proud she is of her daughter, Cindy was quick to comment on Kaia’s post writing, “Love these! And you! 😘”.

We want a joint modeling campaign, stat!
