Jamie Foxx waved to onlookers as he passed by on a boat in his first public appearance since suffering what his family described as a “medical complication” earlier this year.

Foxx, in a video shared by TMZ, cracked a smile as he traveled on the Chicago River on Sunday.

The appearance marks the first time Foxx has been spotted in public following his hospitalization in April that sparked an outpouring of support from celebrities.

Foxx has since been “doing well,” actor John Boyega, who co-starred with Foxx in the summer sci-fi comedy “They Cloned Tyrone,” shared with People last month. Datari Turner, who co-produced the film with Foxx, said the actor was “in really, really good shape and spirits.”

The public sighting comes over two months after Foxx showed supporters love and shared that he was “feeling blessed” in his first Instagram post since his hospitalization.

Foxx’s daughter Corinne Foxx updated fans in May regarding the actor and said he had been recuperating and out of the hospital for weeks.

“In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday!” she declared.

The actor was hospitalized while he was in Georgia filming “Back in Action,” which is set to also star Cameron Diaz.

In addition to “They Cloned Tyrone,” Foxx’s comedy film “Strays” is due out this summer.

He hosts the Fox game show “Beat Shazam” along with his daughter Corinne, too, although Nick Cannon filled in as a guest host for the program’s sixth season that kicked off in May.
