Inside Sophie Turner and Taylor Swift’s NYC Dinner…from a Person at the Restaurant With Them

If you’re initial reaction to seeing those pics of Taylor Swift and Sophie Turner leaving dinner together was screaming, following by frantic texts to various group chats, followed by “to be a fly on the wall at Via Carota,” good news: someone found the proverbial fly on the wall and they are speaking.

According to a source who was at the scene and spilled to Entertainment Tonight, Sophie (dressed in slacks and a knit halter top) and Taylor (wearing a cozy fall dress and a trench from EB Denim) enjoyed dinner with a couple other friends, and then went to Temple Bar where they stayed for around two hours and left at 11 pm.

As the eyewitness put it, “Sophie seemed to be happy and enjoying the night. They seemed to be having the best time—they were laughing and chitchatting with the waitstaff and drinking martinis.”

Meanwhile a source tells ET that “They are fans of each other and have been friends for a while. Sophie doesn’t care that Taylor dated Joe. It was so long ago and in the past. Taylor has a good time when she’s with Sophie and they enjoyed some fun girl time together last night.”

Their good time was confirmed by another insider ~on the ground~ who told Page Six that Taylor and Sophie were enjoying “martinis with caviar bumps, which they seemed to love” and that they were “having a fun time.”

Taylor and Sophie’s outing comes just a couple weeks after Joe Jonas and Sophie’s split—which they confirmed in a joint statement, saying “Statement from the two of us. After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
