Explore Speakers and Tools Available to Utah Educators

by Matthew Winters

Utah Coalition for Educational Technology is excited to partner with the Utah Educational Library Media Association, Utah’s librarian association, for an amazing 2024 conference. Join UEN, along with speakers from across the country, on March 19th-20th at the Salt Palace.

For this Teacher Tip, let’s explore a few of the speakers coming to UCET/UELMA 24 and which tools at UEN can help you to prepare for these great speakers.

Let’s explore:

  • Eric Curts, a Utah favorite, is a Google Trainer from Ohio and runs the blog Control Alt Achieve. He is a Google expert who, like many, is exploring artificial intelligence. Try out a new Google tool called Teachable Machines to help students explore and make their own sorting algorithms.

  • Steve Isaacs and Cathy Cheo-Isaacs are coming out to connect with educators about eSports and computer science through their work at Epic Games. UEN has some great resources for including robotics and computer science in your classroom, including training opportunities on Microbits.

  • The keynote for March 19th is Richard Culatta and the keynotes for March 20th are Becky Calzada and Carolyn Foote. They will all discuss topics surrounding digital citizenship and literacy. Check out resources for both topics on the newly updated Utah’s Online School Library
