preview for Stranger Things Season 5 Everything You Need To Know

Time to whip out the dusty list of Stranger Things theories that you and I wrote in a disassociated state post-season 4, because one of them has officially been rejected by the Duffer Brothers.

The theory in question involves the final season of Stranger Things revealing that allllll the events thus far have actually been a game of Dungeons & Dragons. Meaning, nothing we’ve seen is real and it’s all in the imaginations of the players (presumably, the players being our main teen cast).

But nope! Matt and Ross Duffer were asked about this one during the premiere of the theater production Stranger Things: The First Shadow, and apparently “erupted into jovial giggles” before Matt joked to Metro UK, “That is correct. That is the ending…No.”

Ross then added, “That would be the equivalent of, ‘That’s all a dream.’ No, I assure you that is not how we’re going to end the show.” He also said they know exactly how the show is going to end, and have known for a minute. As Ross put it, “We’ve known where we’ve been going for a while. And we feel comfortable with it; hopefully, it satisfies everyone. We’ll see.”

As for what happens in season 5, we know…literally nothing. EXCEPT, there is this: Ross Duffer dropped the cast list on his Instagram Stories, and redacted one mysterious name, cryptically writing “See you after the holidays.”
