As you might have noticed, Monday, July 17, was a pretty big day for celebrity breakups. On top of Joe Manganiello and Sofía Vergara revealing that they’re divorcing after 7 years of marriage, TMZ reported that Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez are “heading for divorce” after Ariana was spotted without her wedding ring at Wimbledon this weekend.

And apparently Dalton’s need to spend the majority of his time in Los Angeles was one of the major reasons for their split. “She was happy in Los Angeles for a couple of years. She wanted to make a life there with Dalton,” a source tells People. “He is super focused on his career and needs to live in Los Angeles. It’s definitely been an issue for them. Dalton’s career is demanding and he can’t leave Los Angeles often. So when [Grande] started filming Wicked in England, they were in for a long-distance marriage.”

Despite the relationship ending, People’s source says “Ari has nothing but kind words to say about Dalton. During their marriage, he was her No. 1 fan.”

Meanwhile, an insider told Page Six that “They came to the decision together. They were having problems before January, but they want to remain best friends.” In fact, they’ve been “really good friends throughout the entire process” and “their friends and families have been trying to protect them.”

Rumors about Ariana and Dalton’s relationship status hit on Sunday July 16, and thus far neither of them have confirmed their relationship status.
