Spread the word, the 00s are back! We think there’s a solitary hermit in the Himalayas that hasn’t got the memo. While it’s sunk in that they’re back…it hasn’t quite sunk in how long ago they actually were. How can Christina Aguilera’s iconic 2002 album Stripped (Dirty, Beautiful, The Voice Within) be turning 21, when 2007 was only five years ago? Somebody reach out to a physicist for comment because it’s defying the laws of space and time.

In honor of the classic album coming of age, Xtina shared a video of so many BTS moments and video shots from the making of the album, and the beauty looks were endless. Too many iconic moments from an aesthetic that defied pop princess rules and set so many into their dirty era.

But one look that we’d totally missed/forgotten, and is going straight to our party season inspo this year, is this imaginative way to flip a metallic eyeshadow look. Forget bringing it around the lower lash line, a little in the corner, Christina is wearing a full frosting of iridescent purple shadow below her eye, right on the peak of her cheekbone.

It’s nothing short of revolutionary and honestly, we can’t believe we’ve never noticed it before. Looking like a butterfly on her face, it gives a whole new meaning to winged eye makeup.

I’d screen grab the pic if I were you because this is one look you’ll want to recreate. The best part? Anyone can. It couldn’t be easier.
