preview for Christina Aguilera Went From Mouseketeer to Pop Legend

Whether it’s 1999 or 2023, the names Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have constantly been paired with—or, unfortunately, pitted against—each other. The pop stars have become multifaceted icons throughout their decades-long careers, and they’re not going anywhere any time soon as they work on new and exciting projects. Britney is publishing her memoir, The Woman In Me, on October 24 while Christina is gearing up for her first-ever (!!) Las Vegas residency at The Venetian Resort’s Voltaire Belle de Nuit this December.

While promoting her upcoming residency on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Xtina was asked about Britney’s book. “You know, Britney Spears has a memoir coming out. Do you think you will be in it? Has she called you and said, ‘Hey, heads up, there’s a chapter about you’?” Jimmy asked, to which Christina replied, “Dude, I don’t know.”

Jimmy then asked a follow-up question: “Are you hoping that you’re in it?”

The powerhouse vocalist behind “Beautiful” awkwardly dodged the question—probs because it didn’t pertain to her own project—and shared well wishes for Britney. “I don’t know. I mean, I’m hoping that everything is all good with her and everything’s beautiful,” she started. “I think the future should be celebrated.”

After her sweet response, the late-night host probed further and asked, “If you had to choose between being in it and not being in it…?” while Christina and the audience shared a laugh.

She then gave Jimmy a little side-eye 👀, adding, “For real?” before he admitted that he would want to be mentioned in the memoir. “Maybe you will be in it! You know what, let’s put it this way—I’d rather it be you than me,” she said.

Xtina was having 👏 none 👏 of 👏 that 👏!
