As you’re likely well aware, Meghan Markle debuted the first offering from her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard: a cute lil’ batch of jam that was seemingly sent to the Duchess’s friends. Celebs from Chrissy Teigen to Kris Jenner have been showing off their jam hauls on Instagram, and it looks like Buckingham Palace…took that personally???

Amid the press surrounding Meghan’s jam, Buckingham Palace’s official shop went ahead and decided to show off ITS OWN JAM in a post that can only be described as ~simply too much of a coincidence to ignore~.

“Our Strawberry Preserve is made using only the finest berries and is delicious served in a variety of ways 🍓,” it captioned the post. “How do you enjoy your strawberry preserve? Let us know in the comments!”

And people definitely LET THEM KNOW in the comments—the vibes of which were basically a combination of amused and very much not amused. A sampling, you ask?

“Grow up.”

“So very petty. Puts royal family in a very poor light. Glad Prince Harry and his family are no longer there.”

“The Empire strikes back.”

“And that’s how you promote a product!”

“I’m dying at the timing of this ad.”

“Poor taste. In many aspects.”

“The Crown writers are scrambling right now with this jam storyline.”

Meghan/American Riviera Orchard has not responded to this jammy outburst on part of the Buckingham Palace shop, but stay tuned!
