We all saw the historic moment Anne Hathaway recreated one of her iconic Andy Sachs looks to sit beside Anne Wintour (aka Miranda Priestly) front row at fashion week. The brown ensemble, the pony, the fringe: it stirred something within us. But have you ever wondered what young Andrea would have looked like after a few more years at Runway magazine? If she’d dumped that deadweight boyfriend and told her whiny friends to fix up?

Well Anne Hathaway just graced our IG feed with a bouffant millennial power-do and we’re pretty sure this is not far off what our heroine would have looked like by the time she was an editor (probably a features editor, as while her fashion game certainly picked up, we know it wasn’t her calling.)

Swept over in a side part worthy of the late 00s, her long dark hair is tousled yet smart, with long layers and some boss b*tch volume. The dark liner and satin finish lip understood the assignment with this one, sitting comfortably in that era.

The suit and matching dress hail back to a time before everyone wore the coolest trainers on Instagram to the office, back when ‘the clackers’ reigned. At this point, girls were wearing blazers to the office, the shop, the club, brunch and church. Even the necklace is low-key giving 2009 (sorry Bulgari).

Admittedly Andy’s take would have had more of a high fashion spin than the Starbucks gworlies (and have been a few years ahead), but seeing her with this hair, we can really picture it. We like to think she was always above a peplum though.
