Consider the materials

Typically speaking, the more coils a mattress has, the more supportive it is, with individually-wrapped coils being the best option for absorbing motion and adapting to the body. And, ofc, the type of foam used in your mattress matters, too. Polyurethane foam, or poly-foam, tends to have a bouncier feel than memory foam and an open-cell structure to allow for better airflow, but since it’s not as dense as memory foam, it’s likely to degrade faster. Another alternative: latex foam, which sleeps cooler than memory foam and can be made with natural materials (unlike PU foam and memory foam, which are always synthetic).

Find the right firmness

Your go-to sleep position should also influence your mattress pick. Side sleepers do best with medium-soft to medium-firm mattresses, while back sleepers should look for a medium-firm to firm mattress.
